Air Fryer Half Chicken


Rinse the half chicken in the bag in which it's thawing out in and drain well. Make sure the breast side is up to receive all the flavours, then add

  • a few glugs of good oil
and smoosh it all around to coat the chicken. Then throw in
  • 1 tsp Paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp onion flakes
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • ¼ tsp Cayenne pepper
Suck out all the air, then massage intimately until everything covers the chicken. Then into the fridge until ready to cook.

Or you can skip all this. Go away until 7:55, then rinse your bird it in its bag, drain well, add a few good shakes of bread crumbs and shake it all about.

Place the chicken on an air fryer mesh tray, on top of the metal baking dish, skin side up. Roast for

15 minutes at 380

If potatoes are going with it's time to start peeling.

Flip the chicken so it is bones side up. Then another

20 minutes at 380

Flip the chicken one last time. Then back in for

20 minutes at 380

Potatoes should be boiling merrily.

Chicken can most likely come out now. Stick a probe in a few spots and verify the chicken is well past 165 going on 180, otherwise back in for a few minutes. If done then cover in foil and let it sit until dinner time. May or may not have gravy drippings in the pan.
